In interviews, she stated that she was disappointed that the weight wasn&#8217;t coming off quicker, but that she knew it was headed in the right direction and that with a little will power and self-control, she knew she would get there in the end.</p>
<p>Gastric banding is a less restrictive and permanent operation than gastric bypass, but must not be viewed as a minor piece of cosmetic surgery. As technology improves, gastric bands can be fitted via keyhole surgery, leaving little evidence of the incision . What the band does is fits around the top of the stomach chamber, leaving a very small space for food particles to fit through. This will serve to make you feel fuller sooner, helping you to curb your appetite and thereby eat less. Some surgeons will offer adjustable gastric bands, which can be tightened or loosened depending on your weight loss requirement and if you wish, they can also be removed later on in life.</p>
<p>Following the operation, there should be at least 12 months of after care offered, including diet advice and a programme of cognitive therapy to address your issues with food. There will be a period of time when you will only be able to consume clear liquids, but this should only be for a few days, after which you can start introducing bland solids and work up from there. If you are still being sick a week after the operation or are having trouble keeping water down, you should return to your clinic immediately for further advice.</p>

<p>One misunderstanding about exercise is that most people think that the exercise itself is directly responsible for the weight loss. The exercises build muscle, and the increase in muscle increases your metabolism, and the increase in metabolism is what causes your weight loss.</p>
<p>When you have very little muscle, and a lot of fat, you will naturally have a low metabolism. This means your body doesn&#8217;t need much energy. So if you eat just a little bit too much, it will be stored almost automatically as fat.</p>
