2009 was a wonderful year full of bounty for users of mobile phones. Tons of handsets hit the streets. Tons more are waiting in line to stalk the shelves in the near not so distant future.
Much anticipated mobile phone technology has consumers biting at the bit. Mobile phone companies are not only bringing new technology to the table, but are slashing prices making it even more affordable to own a cellphone.
Market leaders such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, and HTC are the culprits to these amazing launches in mobile phone technology. In order to make a dime, companies that offer mobile phone network connectivity such as o2 and Vodafone, have climbed aboard this sailing ship. They offer great deals. They offer gifts. All in an effort to thwart the competition. A bonus for the consumer.
This competitive market makes for an excellent playground, a smorgasbord of options for the consumer. It is a consumer swindle on steroids. Options, options, and even more options will be prevalent in 2010 for mobile phone users. Consumers will have wider options, lower prices, and in some instances free will be a factor.
Mobile phones are going to incorporate new applications that spread over a wide variety of technologies such as video conferencing, Wi-Fi application services, video blogging capabilities, all set upon strong, firm, powerful 3G networks.
Also, new designs in mobile hardware add the perfect combination, the perfect setup for a complete mobile experience. Users will put look and feel of their phones up their with the price of the phone and network usage.
As with other advances in technology, eventually as it becomes mainstream, look and feel become more and more important to consumers. The right color. The right shape. The right size. More variety. More options. All of these become even more important to the user and to the mobile phone companies that want their business. Consumers will chose mobile phone packages that suit their needs and also their wants.
Another important feature not to be overlooked, music. Mobile phones are now capable of interpreting multiple file formats such as MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, and M4A. This has opened the door to new innovation, technology, and design in mobile phones. Video also can be played in WMV, MP4 and 3GP file formats. Consumers can listen to the radio, download and play their favorite songs, or kick back and enjoy the show. This new medium boasts never before seen levels of memory which to date can be as much as 16GB with the aid of microSD cards.
