Spray Tan As A Beauty Option

by Suzy Winkle

We all know that UV rays from the sun and traditional tanning beds are terrible for our skin. They both can cause skin cancer and premature aging. We all want to banish our pale, pasty skin for a deep, dark tan without the consequences of actually tanning. Its just a fact that everyone looks better with a sun-bronzed glow.

To get the tan that you want means going for some other options. Spray on tan has become very popular over the past few years as the technology improves and more products become available. This type of tanning can be done at home or in your local beauty salon. Spray tan uses DHA as it’s active component for tanning. A colorless chemical, this darkens the skin by gently staining it.

It can take anywhere from half an hour to an hour to apply this substance to your body. Once the session is completed, you will look like you spent a weekend on the beach. The application lasts about seven days. Before spraying the substance on, you should exfoliate your body so that your tan will be even. You should have no products what so ever on your skin because this could keep your skin from absorbing the spray tan properly.

You need to be sure that you don’t get any of the product on your furniture or clothing. Wearing dark clothing that isn’t tight for a few hours after your treatment is the best thing to do. Anything that is pure cotton won’t stain. Using moisturiser that is water-based will help to keep you tan looking nice for a greater time.

You can apply peroxide to a cotton ball for quick removal on the skin. This type of tanning is the number one recommendation of dermatologists. Not only will it give you a beautiful tan, it will also hide cellulite, tan lines, blemishes, and spider veins.

You can get some great home tanners. Some have touch screen LCD displays that makes it easy to control your own treatment. They are small pieces of equipment that don’t need much storage space and they are portable. With such a system you can have a great tan all of the time.

If you’re not in the market for a home use kit you can always head down to your local beauty centre. They are professionals and they will be able to help you to get the best results out of your spray tanning experience. They will also be able to help with interim tans to make your main treatment last longer and stay looking good.

With spray tanning your skin will look healthy and you wont have to worry about dangerous sun damage. You even have the option of having the DHA come out in a fine mist. Instead of going to the old fashion tanning bed, jump on the bandwagon and start getting a spray tan for your tan today.
